B-Side

Jazz B is available to students interested in playing jazz after school. Students must be in marching band to participate. 

It will be held within the 7th period time frame. 

Instruments include: 5 saxophone, 4 trumpet, 4 trombone, 1 guitar, 1 bass guitar, 1 piano, and 1 drum set. 

At this time, we will not allow non-traditional jazz instruments like flute or clarinet into the ensemble.

Students in jazz B must have some music experience. This is NOT a beginning or advanced level group. This is an intermediate group.

Students who play an instrument but would like to try a similar instrument may join (e.g. trumpet to trombone or alto sax to tenor sax).

This will run between Thanksgiving Break and Spring Break.

Although the time commitment is low, we expect students to put in maximum effort. 

This group will be led by student directors with oversight by Mr. Tran.

Drumline B is available to anyone interested in playing jazz after school.

It will be held within the band 1 time frame. 

Instruments include: snare, quads, bass drums, and cymbals.

Priority goes to percussion students in band 1.

Other students in drumline B must have some music experience. This is NOT an intermediate or advanced level group. This is a beginning group.

Students will perform at pep band games and at concerts.

Students must be in band 1 percussion or marching band to participate. 

This will run between the entire school year, however, Mr. Tran reserves the right to make any changes as it best suits the program.

Although the time commitment is low, we expect students to put in maximum effort. 

This group will be led by student directors and one percussion coach.
